Grace Family Church volunteers join the church Sports Camp Committee and provide organizational services such as camp scheduling, registration, web site support, photography, equipment management, kitchen support, barbeque night support, and church decorations to name a few. Once the camp starts you'll find them at any and all the positions necessary during the week from kitchen to crafts.

Local parent volunteers are canvassed from the children's registrations and are asked to contribute for as many full days as they can volunteer. They become group leaders and supervisors, kitchen helpers, sports coaches and crafts helpers. They are encouraged to attend a single orientation evening a few weeks before the camp to become familiar with the Grace Family folks and to learn about general Sports Camp organization and our camp/site emergency procedures. Day care is provided for those parents who otherwise could not volunteer because they have pre-school age children.

International missionaries are mission oriented church groups who volunteer their vacation time to assist churches who have a need for extra labour. These groups are primarily from the United States and travel up here on their own volition and finances to further the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

Medical Attention

The Sports Camp has on staff during camp hours a volunteer registered nurse to provide medical first aid and assistance to special needs children.

Location

Sports camp is held on the grounds of Grace Family Church and the city owned Sports fields to the immediate north of our church. Baseball, golf and soccer are played in the city sports fields and court games such as basketball, volleyball and street hockey are conducted on the church parking lot to the south of the building. Activities

Camp starts at 10:00 am and has seven 40 minute periods until the end of the day at 2:40 pm.
