Sports Camp Detailed Description
Activities (continued)

Campers arrive in the morning and find their groups on the grounds around the church. Colourful flags identify the groups and the children congregate together and greet each other before heading back to the church for the morning open assembly. Singing thematic Christian songs and learning the motions to them along with Christian worship provides the foundation for a happy healthy day of activities to come.

Moving from the assembly the campers start their daily activities such as crafts class in the basement of the church. Every day campers work at a craft that they can take home that day or if it's a multi-day craft, one they can take home at the end of the week. One craft always involves decorating a frame for their Sports Camp group picture.

Bible study is held in the coolness of the tents to the north of the building and the children learn foundational truths about Jesus Christ and join in with fun games or listen to Bible stories.

Every day the campers will attend 3 sports. During the course of the week at least 6 sports will be presented such as baseball, hockey, basketball, volleyball, golf, cheerleading and soccer. Some classes have an option such as golf or cheerleading and the group is divided thusly for that period depending on the campers choice.

Sports are presented with a simplified skills demonstration and practice followed as soon as possible by a supervised scrimmage so the children can maximize their fun sports time.

Lunch

Attractively prepared and generous hot meals are provided to the children and volunteers every day for lunch. There is always enough for seconds and never a drop left after!
