Grace Family Church launched its beginning Easter Sunday, 2001. We are a self-governing church (the congregation decides its own ministries, staff, budgets, owns its own property). We are affiliated with a mission organization called the Canadian National Baptist Convention.
Vision Statement:
Being a missional community of believers joining God in the neighbourhood
Core Values
“Core values are of no value unless they reflect God’s values.” Our Daily Bread
We value the inspired Word of God to have authority in all areas of church and personal life .
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof,
for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may
be adequate, equipped for every good work.
II Timothy 3:16,17
We value dynamic personal and corporate worship
“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.”
John 4:23
We value a passion for personal and corporate prayer
With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view,
be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:18
We value living holy lives
…Be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written,
“You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
I Peter 1:15,16
We value healthy, loving relationships that reflect our relationship with God
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
I John 4:11
We value every person having access to a New Testament church, united in purpose and teaching
…Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the
Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature
which belongs to the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:13
We value every person hearing the message of Jesus Christ in a manner that they can understand and relate
For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, that I might win the more.
To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all, that I may by all means save some.
I Corinthians 9:19, 22
We value every member of the church being empowered by God’s Spirit to join Him in His kingdom work
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
Our Church Covenant:
Having been led, as I believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and on the profession of faith having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and being in agreement with Grace Family Church’s statements, strategy, and structure, I do now most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with the other members of Grace Family Church as one body in Christ.
I promise, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk circumspectly in the world; to be fair in my dealings, faithful in my commitments, and exemplary in my conduct; to protect the unity of my church by acting in love toward other members, by avoiding all gossip, backbiting and excessive anger, and by following the pastors and leaders; and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.
I promise to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge and holiness; to promote its growth and spirituality; and to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines.
I promise to serve the ministry of my church by contributing cheerfully and regularly to the church for its expenses and its commitments, to provide relief for those in need, and to spread the Gospel; by discovering my gifts and talents, and being equipped to serve by my pastors, and by developing a servant’s heart.
I promise to maintain family and personal devotions, educate my children in the Christian faith, and seek the salvation of my family and acquaintances.
I further promise to watch over the members in love; to remember the members in prayer; to help the members in times of sickness and trouble; to cultivate Christian sympathy, feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the commands of our Savior to secure it without delay in the manner taught in Matthew 18.
I moreover promise that when I move from this place, I will as soon as possible unite with another church that carries out the principles of God’s Word and the spirit of this covenant.
We are affiliated with the Canadian National Baptist Convention.
About the Canadian National Baptist Convention
The Canadian National Baptist Convention was organized in Kelowna, British Columbia on May 8, 1985. Churches from Victoria, British Columbia to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island voluntarily associate themselves with the convention to build the kingdom of God across Canada and around the world.
CNBC churches are autonomous and hold the Bible as the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. Each congregation is made up of baptized believers who covenant together in obedience to Jesus Christ, the head of the church.
Although churches are autonomous, God leads them to cooperate to achieve what would be impossible were they to attempt it alone. Congregations contribute through the Cooperative Program to provide a funding channel to take the good news around the world.
The CNBC mission is to help churches build the kingdom of God. We measure our success by the success of our churches. God has given us a vision to start 1,000 healthy, reproducing churches by the year 2020. We see this vision as a promise from God that originated in His heart and will be accomplished by His power. Our responsibility is to join Him in what he is doing and to give Him all the glory.
